Summary
This section was a lot about new laws against jews. Some of the laws made the children wear a yellow badge on their left arm and in the center of their back that said jew in black ink at all times. The adults that didn't have beards had to wear the Star of David at all times as well. It was also about the Golde family moving. one morning Henry's dad woke him up saying, "the Germans are here." They had to get everything packed up they wanted and leave before the Germans came into their apartment and forced them to leave. It told about them getting taken to a concentration camp. They only got a bowl of watery soup and once they got it a german officer would beat them with a wooden paddle thing. Then a woman gave birth to a boy and a German "with a heart" named it for the woman. He also let them sing and brought the mom a loaf ob bread and the baby some milk. Another officer came in the next morning and put certain people on a train. They each got a loaf of bread per family. The train took them to a town where they could live. It went from a population of 4,000 people to a population of 10,000 people because of all the jews.

They stayed there for quite a while. They also lived with their neighbors from their original town. The same ones they stayed with in Gombin when the German's Blitz Krieg kept attacking and bombing it. The neighbors also helped farm as well. The farmer gave them some of the crops for food and a place to live too. They can stay there as long as they want but if they stay to long, the German's will most likely find them so they may need to keep moving on.
